At Nobel Carpets, we exist to translate that vision into the floor beneath your feet — entirely to your specification, from the first conversation to the finished installation.
We are not a catalogue company. We do not offer standard ranges or off-the-shelf solutions. Every carpet and rug we produce is custom made at our own factory in Bandung, Indonesia — using certified 100% New Zealand wool and premium yarn produced in-house at our sister company, Albany Spinning Mills. From boutique hotel suites to grand ballrooms, from private residences to large-scale commercial developments, we have delivered bespoke flooring solutions for some of the most recognised projects in the region and beyond.
What We Make
Nobel Carpets offers custom production across three primary construction types, each suited to different design intentions, performance requirements, and project scales.
Custom Axminster Carpets The premium choice for large-scale commercial and hospitality projects. Axminster weaving allows for intricate custom patterns, logos, borders, and repeat motifs woven directly into the carpet structure — in up to 8 colours per design, on loom widths of 3.66m and 4m, with a minimum order of 500 sqm. Produced using our 80/20 certified New Zealand wool and nylon blend.
Custom Hand-Tufted Carpets & Rugs The most creatively flexible construction we offer. Hand-tufted production allows for any size, any shape, any design, and unlimited colours — with no minimum order quantity. Available in a wide range of fibres including 100% New Zealand wool, viscose, bamboo silk, and wool blends, in cut pile, loop pile, cut-and-loop, carved, and sculptural constructions.
Custom Printed Carpets & Rugs Where photographic detail, complex imagery, or fast turnaround is required, our Chromojet-printed carpets deliver vibrant, high-definition results on nylon and polypropylene substrates. Ideal for themed interiors, branded environments, and large-scale decorative installations.

The Process
We have refined our custom production process over more than 45 years to make it as straightforward as possible for designers, architects, developers, and contractors — without compromising on the detail and rigour that bespoke manufacturing demands.
1. Brief & Consultation Every project begins with a conversation. Share your brief with our team — whether that is a fully developed design, a mood board, a reference image, or simply an idea — and we will advise on the most appropriate construction, material, and specification for your project.
2. Design Development Our in-house design team develops your concept into a production-ready design. We work through revisions with you until the design is exactly right. Clients who prefer to supply their own artwork or technical files are welcome to do so.
3. Sample Production Before full production begins, we produce physical strike-off samples for your review and approval. Up to two samples are included in the process, allowing you to evaluate colour, pile, texture, and construction at true scale before committing to the full order.
4. Production Once the sample is approved and the order confirmed, your carpet or rug enters our production schedule at our factory in Bandung. Standard lead time is 60–90 days from design sign-off, subject to terms and conditions.
5. Delivery & Installation Completed carpets are delivered to your project site. Installation can be arranged through Nobel Carpets or handled directly by your own contractor — whichever best suits your project programme.
